Great Pumpkin & Scarecrow Festival

Each year on the weekend before Thanksgiving the community of Lumsden comes alive with scarecrows.  Individuals and businesses decorate their yards with displays for the annual festival.  Festival day events include the ever popular People Movers, which tour the nearly 100 community scarecrow displays; a Country Fair featuring musical entertainment, food vendors, crafters and other goods for sale; lots of activities for children; and the pumpkin catapult competition in which small pumpkins are "chucked" the length of a football field with home built catapults (that cannot contain any mechanical parts).
